Mary Tingerthal

President, Tingerthal Group LLC

Mary Tingerthal served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency from 2011 to 2019, appointed by Governor Mark Dayton. She now leads the Tingerthal Group LLC which provides consulting services to public and private organizations working to increase the availability of housing that is affordable to low and moderate-income families.

Mary previously served as President and CEO of the National Equity Fund, and as a Managing Director for GMAC Residential Funding, where she led the development of the company’s home equity loan products. Mary held senior management positions with the Housing Partnership Network, Community Reinvestment Fund, and the City of Saint Paul.

She serves as chair of the board for Framework Homeownership, a technology company that provides at robust digital platform to support first-time homebuyers as they navigate buying and owning their homes, and also serves on the boards of the National Housing Trust, and the National Community Investment Fund. Mary served as a member of the Community Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Board and the Affordable Housing Advisory Council to Fannie Mae. She previously served as chair of the boards of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and of CommonBond Housing.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Business from Stanford Graduate School of Business, attending as a Bush Fellow, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota.
