“I love building relationships and learning from the community. The work that I do at the Foundation allows me to help invest into the communities that have invested in me and help provide that opportunity for others."
As a program officer, Gina listens and learns from community organizations to inform and form her work towards a more equitable Minnesota. She is responsible for reviewing grantmaking in several key areas, including Family and Parent support, Food and Nutrition, Disabilities and Environment.
Gina joined the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation in November 2020. She brings prior experience in community engagement and youth work. She has a history of working for nonprofits like the YWCA Minneapolis, Literacy Minnesota, and currently serves on the board of Telling Queer History, a nonprofit that seeks to bring LGBTQ+ people together across generations and identities through storytelling gatherings by fostering community, compassion, empathy, and healing. She believes her background in direct service and community organizing has prepared her to better represent and advocate for the communities she partners with.
Gina received her bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from the University of Minnesota and was a Page Education Foundation Scholar. In her spare time, Gina is passionate about environmental stewardship and can usually be found hiking, gardening, birding and spending time with family and friends.
